Map to Non-shared Directories

Hi, I really need to be able to map a Win95 machine to non-shared sub-directories of network shares on a Win2k server.
Win2k clients have no problem through the login script just using net use. I've managed to do it with NT clients with a combination of net use and subst to map sub-directories of shares i.e. net use x: \\server\share then subst y: x:\sub-directory. That works OK even if it doesn't show the full path in explorer. However, I also need to do this in 95 and the subst command gives the response 'Cannot SUBST to a network drive'. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
