Hi there,
Is there any way to make "Find" always open at the same size?
its very tedious having to resize it to display the whole view of the found filesthankyou for any assistance.

Mine always opens to the same size.
I find no way to adjust the size that it opens to.If you find the task as 'tedious' to click on the small Maximize button then have you tried clicking on the Title bar to maximize it? Maybe that would be a little easier for you since it is larger in size.
Regards,
Bryan

I know how to maximize a window,
what i was wanting to know is if its possible to set it to always open at a particular size...
maybe using a registry hack or whatever....but thanks for your help mate :)

I even tried making a shortcut to it and then in the shortcut's properties I selected open "maximized" but it did not retain it.

I have used the following for opening notepad maximized and went to what I thought was the Find: All Files in the registry at HKEY_Classes_Root\fndfile and tried ever combination there to no avail. Maybe one of the gurus here can do something with it.
You can change the command line in the registry to have a command prompt open those files maximized.
Navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\txtfile\shell\open\command
Click command in the left pane. In the right pane, double click default. Replace the command already present with this line to have a prompt open the textfile in max.START /max C:\windows\system32\Notepad.exe %1
This assumes Windows is installed on C:\
But first export the key:
Right click on command and choose export. Name it txtfile and save in a safe place.
This is one of those files you have to import in HEX. So you should go into the registry and make the change manually.Take Care

Bryan-I just noticed what you said about "making a shortcut to it". Where did you find the actual Find: All Files exe to make a shortcut. If you did maybe we can use the info in my post above to solve the problem.

If you use Find to locate anything then you can then go to File, Save Search. It will place it on your desktop. (I use two of them regularly (TIF and TEMP)
I moved them to My Documents (F:\Bryan's Stuff\Misc actually) and then right clicked and dragged them to my desktop (Office Shortcut Bar actually) and selected 'Create shortcut here'.The file type is "Saved search" and has the .fnd extension. The shortcuts, of course, have .LNK extensions.

I have used AutoSizer for years. It will open it maximized. Or any other windows as well. Freeware.
