Mail Merge not showing up in Word 2000

I have a computer that used to have Mail Merge show up under the tools menu but it has recently disappeared. It has NOT been "hidden" by Word, it doesn't show up even if I let the menu fully expand. I have scoured the installation CD to add this option but am unable to find it. I have even tried repairing and reinstalling Office 2000 with no success. This computer used to have MS Works installed as well and I have removed it because I will getting a Fatel Exception error in wkwdaddn.dll which Microsoft attributes to have both Works and Office installed on the same system. After I removed Works for Word Add-in is when the Mail Merge option disappeared. Has anyone else run into this issue?
Summary: REgarding: HP Pavillion 6540C, Windows 98, Micrsoft Works 4.5a. Actually, I have two problems...One, All of the fonts that I installed worked on MSWorks. Now, they do not. I tried reinstalling, etc....
