I'VE BEEN GETTING BOOTED OFF AOL ON A REGULAR BASIS WITH A ERROR MESSAGE READING: INVALID PAGE FAULT IN MODULE MACXW4.DRV AT 000A:0000072F. AOL SUGGESTED I DOWNLOAD AN UPDATED VIDEO DRIVER ONTO MY SYSTEM, BUT I'M HAVING TROUBLE FINDING ONE. IS THIS NESSECARY OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I CAN DO?

This is an ATI video card driver. You can find drivers on ATI's web site at www.atitech.com. Failing that, there is a selection of drivers at Rage3d.com plus a forum for asking ATI questions.

You could try setting the video acceleration a little lower. Starting at your desktop, RIGHT click your mouse and click on Properties in the pop-up menu. When the display properties dialog box opens click on the Settings tab. A new dialog box will open and you will see at the bottom right a button marked "Advanced" CLick on advanced and the display properties dialog box opens allowing you to change some settings. You can use the performance tab to get to the graphics hardware acceleration and move the slider back one notch. Restart your computer to make the change take effect and see if you can surf AOL ok. Personally if I had a dollar for every one I encountered with an AOL problem I think I could retire. Skip this whole attempt to correct the symptom and get rid of the problem. There are many other ISP's available or cable if you really want to experience the Internet. Good luck and ciao for now,
Kevin Switzer
