Machine: 750mhz AMD
280 mbs of RAM with Win ME

Hi...

Has anyone also had this problem? I would appreciate any input.

The machine won't boot when I have the USB plug in. It'll go to the bios screen and freeze. When I pull the USB plug out it boots
normally. (note* the USB plug that I have in goes to a stand alone 60 gig USB drive.)

Dont use on board USB ports. They are often manufactured to the lowest standards that are legal in taiwan or wherever they're made.
USB 2 is also a good idea for a drive interface, you can pick up a USB2 card for under £30.

Ztracker00, You will get more response on the WinME forum than the 95/98 one that you posted this on. See Microsoft site below for problems on USB devices and second site for troubleshooting. Good luck.

I would guess more than once :).. [how many times you must say it]

Ztracker Please keep your posts on one forum. Its easier to keep track of the responses and most users visit both the 9X and the ME forum so it usually wont be missed.

Also some of the more savvy users will read a few lines of your post and generate an answer without realizing you dont have the same operating system they do. They have usually answered the same question so many times they dont need to read the whole thing.. etc.

Thanks,
