Low level format utility

I have lots of bads on my hard disk and someone told me I can get rid of them by formatting the disk whit a low level utility.
Please tell me how can I get one or what to do with my hard disk.

Go to the HD mfg's site and download their HD utility program.

and if they don'y have a utility over what then
I have a toshiba harddisk
and he is secured with some password because the latest owner did not do much with the system he said you can buy it
No problem i said so i bought it but forgot the password and i said no problem i delete the partion en create a new one
but the password is still here what can i do
only low level format is a option
but i can't find a driver for it

I have a HD has a bad sectores and i want to make a low level format to this one. but my low level format utility in my mother board is very poor , it take more than 72 hours to make low level format. and i found out that it didnt. so help me please.

Well, there are a few types of low level formats. One will destroy all data (fast) and the other is non-destructive (slow) that's probrably what your computer did. As for the password on the computer A low level format will do NOTHING. If you have deleted the partition and used the format command than the password is stored in your BIOS. There is a jumper on your motherboard that you will have to remove for a sec to clear every thing. If you can't find your motherboards manual than just remove the battery from the motherboard for a minute and put it back. PS. A low level format will not always get rid of bad sectors. You can severely KILL a hard drive by using a NON-COMPATIBLE low level format utility on yout hard drive. Like using a Maxtor utility on a Seagate. DON'T ATTEMPT DO DO IT UNLESS YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DRIVE!!!!

You can get any type of utility at the official low level formatting hard drives web site. It is very useful. There is nothing that I havent found there.
