HI
I Just bought second hand Toshiba T1950CT laptop. It was loaded WIN 95 and Office 97
But the problem is it was chinese edition. So I have decided to load Win 95 English version. I did format c: Then reload drivers for the CD rom and put Win CD and it started to take off then I get {There is not enough disk space for compact installation of Windows ) Then I went to BIOS , It shows laptop had 1000 MB capacity. Also I did FDISK partion and it says I have 1 active portion and only 25 MB of space on harddisk.I am confused where is all the 1000 MB is gone. MS Dos version of 7.0 running. Could anyone tell me how can I recover lost harddisk space. Also not that I did scandisk and disk is fine and as I mentioned before It was enough space to run Win 95 and office program.Could anyone help me with this problem. Thanks in Advance.

Run Fdisk again.
If you are planning on installing Win95B or Win95C select choose yes to Enable Large Disk Support.

If it is Win95A choose no to Large Disk Support.

Delete the current Partition.
Create a new Partition using all the available space.
Make the Partition Active.
Format the Partition.

HTH

Good Day!

Hi Dino,

I tried to answer your e-mail but it was returned from your server as you have exceeded your space limitation.

Try the above.

Try using DelPart to delete all partitions on the drive. Then try fdisk again. Fdisk has problems with partitions that don't look like he thinks they should.
