Comment:
All icons and task bar have disappeared from the initial desktop after loading. Just a blank screen with default background color. Tried reloading Win 95, but still the same. Was OK yesterday, just happened when I loade up today.

I just had the same problem. An error dialog window appears stating that the Shell32.dll file cannot start. If I find an answer I will let you know.

Not really on this subject, but can anyone help me on this one....
When you install certain versions of IE4, you end up with those niffy little icons on the left hand side of the task bar. How do I install just this feature? Upgrade to 98? I am loathed to do this on a IBM ThinkPad 600, as its operating so well with 95 right now!
I appreciate anyones' comments and suggestions,
Best Wishes from Australia,
Frank

My Windows 95 system crashed -- can't reinstall from CD or disk. Can get to the setup screen, but can't access my desktop. Can someone give me a clue as to how I can use the setup screen to start to straighten this out?

Everytime, after have installed iexplorer 5, I have an error with *.dll archives. After this error, my active desktop disapears and all the little icons on the left of the clock. In my case, it was a problem with my pilots video cart (ati rage 3D pro).
