Comment:

I have a Samsung Sync Master 3 monitor with a Trident Super VGA Ver. 4.0 video card.
I don't know starting from what moment it lost the red color and it only reappears erratically. I thought that it was a virus and updated the McAffe antivirus; it found several files infected with W32/MagistrB@MM, it cleaned them, but the red color fault continues.
Is there something I can make before a complete recharge?

Try a different monitor first. You have to troubleshoot.

Check your monitor cable for bent or missing pins and check your display adapter to be sure that it is firmly seated on the MOBO.

That happened to my monitor too. I never did figure out why. The only thing i did notice was that if i didn't use it for a couple of days or weeks, the next time i would go to use it, the red color would come back for a little while. I figure that it was just worn out, overused, broken, and/or a piece of junk from the beginning. I also think that maybe it didn't get the proper ventilation. The top of it smells like it burnt and it kinda looks that way too.

I also experince such problem but my lost color is green. I think it is similar or same cause. I'm try 2 figure it out. If someone know how to fix it let me know. As i know some monitor/tv problem can be fixed by resoldering it but i don't know which part is related to the color.
