Comment:

I have a Compaq Armada laptop 4131T. It only has a floppy drive and a fixed hard drive of 1.4MB. I have tried to format the Hard Drive and for some unknown reason when I check the FDISK utility via my MSDOS 6.22 Boot Disk I can only see a 570Mb partition and nothing else. I used to have windows 98 in a D partition on the Drive but I think I deleted that partition through FDISK. I want to be able to create a bootdisk that will allow me to set up my hard drive with the full 1.4MB available, then so I can install interlink software to install Windows via my desktop PC which has the CD drive. It would appear that my MSDOS 6.22 boot disk won’t allow me to see all of my drive. I have tried downloading bootdisks from bootdisk.com but they all seem to install CD drivers which mean they won’t let me boot without a CD in the system. Anyone able to help me would be much appreciated.

Regards
Terry

You should have no problem using a bootdisk with cdrom support. Just be patient and let the boot cycle finish.

Use a Windows 98 boot disk with CD
ROM support, then it will see the true size
of the drive. I think MSDOS only
recognized 540MB.

Dos 6.22 would have no problem seeing your hard drive. This could be caused by a limitation of your BIOS. Here is a site with good info:
