As already mentioned you don't need a password to start up 98. 98 passwords are for loading user preferences and not about security. I think you can also hit ESC, click 'cancel' or just close the password box and it'll go ahead and boot to windows. Then delete the files in the windows folder with a .pwl extension. That deletes the password info. Then on next bootup you'll get the password box. Click OK and after that it won't ask for a password.
