Lost image previews in explorer

When opening a window under "view as webpage" there's a bar on the left. whenever you click on an image, it shows a little previw of it. Unfortunately I lost that. Explorer doesnt preview JPEGs anymore. I have fixed that before by running some file under start--> run, but I don't remember what. I've seen this on a site called something like Windows Help, but I can't find it anymore. Please tell me what I should do to restore this, and maybe the URL for that site (if you know it). Thank you very much!

Here are two things you can try short of a reinstall of IE over the top. 1) at the Run Command line enter regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll (if on IE 5 change that to shdoc401.dll). 2) If that doesn't do it a Registry edit is in order. Make sure the following registry keys are set up for each type of file you want to view as a thumbnail: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file type . . . ShellEx . . . . . .{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}
(Where "file type" equals jpg, jpeg, gif, etc.)
The value in that last key should be (Default)="{7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}" without the quotes.
The file extensions that use the above registry keys are as follows: art bmp dib gif jfif jpe jpeg jpg png wmf. The Registry fix is from MS Knowledge Base Article Q192573

There is a fix file that will do the Registry repair for you available from Nathan's Help Page http://members.xoom.com/rlk253/ftp/prvwfix.zip The file name is prvwfix.zip. Download, unzip and double click the .Reg file. Your problem should be solved.
