The easiest way is to use Tweakui. It's on your win98 CD or can be downloaded at many places on the WWW. Yweakui has many useful options.

And now that i'm at it anyway, is there a way of removing Favorites, Documents and Help from the start menu? (editing the registry)

No thanks, no tweak UI for me. I already found the solution to remove the Favorites folder, but i can't find the one for removing the documents and help folders.
