Logitech USB Optical Mouse problem

I just purchased a logitech USB optical mouse and a PCI USB card, the card works fine, and I installed the mouse, but when I move the mouse, the moniter goes black and the computer locks up. pleez help if you can, Thanks, Adam

Dear Adam,

This sounds very odd.

Does the "Logitech" Optical Mouse also allow fitting to the back of the computer by the older type PS2 socket and plug by any chance (instead of the USB connection) with an adaptor?

My cordless Optical Logitech (receiver used) can go in either the PS2 or USB.

If you can get it in the PS2 with an adaptor, does the black screen still come on?

What exactly is on the black screen?

Is it blank black or is there writing?

There is actually a programme called "Black Screen" but I take it you don't have that installed.
