Hello, I'm running win98 and at startup, my screen locks up at the startup screen(Windows Logo). I looked In my boot log and it's saying that a Virtual Device Driver failed (NDIS2SUP.VXD & SDVXD). Do I need this driver, and how can I stop the lockup.

In most cases where I've encountered this, it was due to a video card driver. I will try to help you troubleshoot it via email or chat. First, can the computer load windows in safe mode? (press F8 after you see "verifying DMI pool" and select safe mode from menu)

First of all edit your Msdos.sys and get rid of the logo. Then see if you get an error message. My guess is it's some third party Vxd causing it a Anti-virus , First Aid , Clean-sweep etc. Check the boot log. Even if they load ok, look here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD Yes, some of these Vxd's you can get rid of. I'd suggest you backup your registry. And start with removing some of the third party vxd's first. Or get advice from the software company in the case of Anti-virus.
