Is there a way to Absolutely lock down W98. When W98 is booting and you get the log in screen, all you need to do is click cancel and you are in. Is there a way to lock it down so you actually Need a password to get to desktop.

I always use a bios password. They have to enter the password before the computer even begins to load windows. Post back if you want info on how to set one up.

I used a program called Sentry98 once. It had true user login and permissions. I believe that you'll find it at www.sentry98.com
And you won't be able to defeat it by resetting the cmos settings.

OK, thank you alot. One further question though. If I use a BIOS password, can I disable the BIOS password as well then, or once it is set, it is there to stay??

The BIOS password option is a good one but the savy user can reset this by removing the battery for a few minutes. The Sentry program Don mentioned sounds like a good plan since you cant reset the password by removing the BIOS battery.
