Ok, I will try to make it easy on you.

First you will have to partition and format your hard drive. You will need a bootable floppy disk (which includes command.com, io.sys, msdos.sys ,and also has the utilities format.com and fdisk.exe.

Select fdisk and choose enable large disk support. From there you want to make sure that there are no existing partitions. If there are delete them. Next, create a primary partition. Accept all the defaults, and then reboot again from the floppy.

Now when you arrive at the dos prompt a:\ type format c: /s (this copies the system files to the hard drive and enables you to boot alone from your c drive. When formatting is done reboot again.

Now you will need to have a setup/boot disk. You can download this from bootdisk.com. This will include cd-rom drivers. Those are software that will allow you to access your cd-rom drive.

Place the disk in the floppy drive and restart the machine. The machine's bios will detect that there is a floppy disk in the a: drive and will boot to it. On this disk there are several key files, one of which loads generic cd rom drivers. Once you accept support for cd-rom, it will give you the option from the command line to connect to your cd-rom drive, usually d: or e:

At your a:\ prompt type d: (or e: depending on your case, often the diagnostics are loaded to a logical d: drive)

Once you see that the prompt says d: or e: as is the case, type setup. This will launch the windows 95 installation executable.

It's easy, don't sweat it.
