I ran LiveUpdate, and it performed a virus definitions download, but the virus definitions date did not change. I have followed all the 'known issue' stuff on Symantec.com including complete un&re-install of all Norton programmes. I have NAV, Personal Firewall & Utilities (not Systemworks). However same problem...any ideas anyone?

Are using LIVE UPDATE VERSION 1.7 or 1.6? Download VESION 1.7, it can be difficult to find on the Symantec Site, but it fixed an identical problem I had.

Already had 1.70.22.0, but tried to update anyway. Was told 'already installed'

Happened to me...long ago...Had to manually download executable updates from site to make it work...been quite some time since I switched over to AVG
