There is something called samba, which must be run under linux. I haven't set them up myself, so I don't know the details, and that's for connecting 2 computers or more.

Linux can read Windows partition, but not vice versa. One word describes this situation: Bummer.

its possible, there is something called Explore2fs, it read and writes ext2(linux) partitions under linux Peace

I tried out Esplore2fs, which seems to work pretty well for reading ext2fs partitions. I didn't try to write though, because there have been reports of partition table corruption.
It seems that some Installable File System Drivers (IFS) exist, which allows mounting of ext2 partitions under win98, but i haven't tried them.
