i have bought an ibm thinkpad and was wondering if i could link up the laptop to my main pc computer so that i can send files from the laptop to the main computer! any info would be great cheers

If it will be just an occasional hookup, a special USB connection cable is probably the best. They cost about 20-30 US$.

I would just set up a home network. That wat you could get internet on both comps as well as file transfer. This might cost about 40-50 bucks. It is also faster then the usb. You can also set it up so you can print to the same printer.
p.s. If your comp runs slow go to www.defrag.tk
