need help!!!
after installing chinese star application, whenever i start running my win98 SE, there are few error messages prompt,
'CCEVTMGR.EXE linked to missing export USER32.DLL:MsgWaitForMultipleObjectsEx.'(CCEVTMGR.EXE belongs to my norton2003 so i re-install the software, but the same thing turned up, PLUS other additional errors 'CCEVT.DLL linked...USER32.DLL:MsgWaitForMultipleObjectsEx.',and errors from symantec itself 'CCEMLPXY.DLL is missing or damaged','CCREGMON.DLL is missing or damaged','NAVAPW32.DLL is missing or damaged')
'SYSTRAY.EXE linked to missing export USER32.DLL:RegisterDeviceNotificationA' and my office xp no longer functioning(displaying error message whenever i click on winword or excel or watever...'The POWERPNT.exe file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:ChangeDisplaySettingsExA' a device attached to the system is not functioning,'The MSACCESS.exe file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:ToUnicodeEx','The OUTLLIB.DLL file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:TrackMouseEvent' etc...)

I've found that some of my .exe files arent functioning too, CCApp.exe, XXRegVfy.exe, with same error as CCEVTMGR.exe.

I have downloaded a user32.dll file(43.5k) from DLL-Files.com with the same version of the dll file i have (vers 4.00.950), and replaced it to my current user32.dll(45.0k )by using SFC(system file checker).

after reboot, I CAN'T EVEN RUN MY OS!...i can only see an empty screen with error 'can't start user32.dll',then stucked over there doing nothing

any idea what's going on? thanx

Your hard disk is severely corrupted. Your PC could have caught Virus/Worms/Spyware

Best option and probably the only option is to REFORMAT the Hard Disk and do a clean REINSTALL of Win98SE.
Hope you have or can get the Device Drivers to run the PC.

Once back to normal PC, INSTALL and Maintain an updated ANTIVIRUS program, run Anti Spyware frequently, Install effective Firewall , avoid visting High Risk Webpages claiming to allow freeware download, and perform Windows Critical Updates.

..and when you have done all that MaadhuriMN suggests throw the chinese star application in the bin. At best its seems to have overwritten the DLLs with those of its own but is more likely to be a Trojan.

What is it supposed to do anyway?
