Both of these files are on the win98 cd at x:\add-ons\pws x=your cdrom drive. Boot with the startup disk and at the c: prompt change directories by typing: cd windows\system Now delete these two files and then copy new ones from the cd rom to windows\system
To delete type: delete mscvicrt.dll and do the same with the other .dll file. If it tells you it cannot find it then procede with copying the new ones from the windows cd by typing: copy x:\addons\pws\mscvrt.dllc:\windows\system

The last line in my message should be corrected to read:
copy x:\add-ons\pws\mscvrt.dll c:\windows\ system
copy the other file using the same line.

Thanks, but I searched Comp net and found someone that had the same prob. I used the System File Check to restore the MSCVIRT.DLL, and it cured the problem.(I should have searched here for the answer before I posted)
