light on always on cd

when i have an mp3 disc in the light is always on and when i have a cd music cd in it goes on and off
the light is on even when i stop the mp3 from playing sometimes or always
and i also wonder why i cant record with audacity ..is it because i have such a low cpu?
and i also wonder why sometimes a cd will play or sound comes out on a cd rom drive even though there is no cord from cd to sound card

no rather when i turn on computer and start, its on, the light is
when i play the mp3 it blinks off and on
when i stop the player, the light stays on
it seems weird

Hi,I have a couple of CD readers that keep the light on when a CD in in. Audio is connected through the flat IDE cable on some drives. Not familiar with Audacity. If it's a burner that came with another Drive then it is probably non-compatible by design.
