if you have a win98 disk, one can install 98 over the top of 98 and fix any errors. try going to run, type in sfc that will scan for corrupt files. you will need a win98 disk to repair those files tho

Perhaps a little more information... What happens when you try to open Internet Explorer? How did you get to this site? If you're using a second computer, download Mozilla/Firefox and install it on the problem machine. Then, run a Repair of IE.
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Be careful using SFC as it will often find files which are not original but have been changed with updates to IE6, DirectX or other programs. Letting SFC replace files back to original versions will cause even more problems than you already have.
You might also try the Opera browser.

Lexplore and 1explore ('one'explore) are malware. Iexplore is internet explorer. You may need to run something like adaware to make sure you don't have one of the malware files.
