Comment:
I have Windows 98SE on one partition & Windows XP Pro on another. I installed the memory stick it worked on both systems. I decided to format & re-install Win 98SE & now the stick doesnt appear in Windows Explorer but still works in Win XP.
I get the msg "No valid My Memory exist, please plug in & try again".
I've installed all the Win 98SE patches & updates (including the "Unofficial Win 98 Service Pack" from Exuberant Software) & latest driver from Leadtek.

Windows 98 needs USB controller drivers installed before it will recognise any USB devices.

Are the controller drivers from Microsoft? I dont recall having to install them before-Microsoft or not.
BTW, I have another pc with Windows ME & 98SE on separate partitions & prior to installing a new hard drive, the stick worked ok in both Windows. I just now tried to install the stick driver on the new hard drive in 98SE & it doesnt work there either (it works with ME)
If I had to install USB controller drivers on both pc's before, I certainly would have remembered now.
Thanks

That's just his Computing.Net 'signature' - the specs are for his own machine (presumably).
Why don't they make computers that will do what we think we want them to do?
