Hi there! Re: Large file blocking emails. I would sincerely appreciate any help with the following problem. I sent a file which, although zipped, was too large to send. It was sent back to me by the 'postmaster general' but will not download into my inbox no matter how long I leave it to try. It will not even begin to come through even tho' it says 'receiving mail'. I can see that other emails are trying to get through behind it, but can't due to the 'blockage'. Can any one help with this please?

If your ISP has a web based mail you can access go in and delete the e-mail from the web then download the rest with your normal e-mail client. If not you will have to contact your ISP and have them delete it from thier mail server for you.

the only thing i can think is if you have an anti virus package or anything that scans mail for virus's i.e zonealarm. turn the mail checker off as i have noticed it can take ages to download mail with this on.

Hi there - thank you both for your help. I used both of your suggestions in the end. Removing the virus scan did indeed allow the email to come through but took too long before the email receiver cut out. I then contacted my email provider who told me how to access my account via the web and I deleted it from there. A BIG thank you to you both for your response.
