I have a toshiba 4100 satellite laptop computer. When I start it up it says that the following files are missing: vnetsup.vxd, vredir.vxd, dfs.vxd, vserver.vxd, ptp.vxd, and mssp.vxd and then the blue screen appears. The computer won't start in safe mode either and I can't get the rescue disk to get it into windows either. It is running windows 98. Any ideas would be appreciated Thanx
I wouldn't start either, if I were missing all those files!
Don't know how Toshiba works - with my IBM I have a bootable recovery cd that allows me to restore the hard drive its original condition (ie Windows completely reinstalled). What does you manual say about recovering from this kind of problem?

start the system with command prompt options (push F8 at booting). goto the directory with your cab files and run setup to reinstall windows. I forget: run first scandisk to see of the drive is damaged

Those are some files that come with ZoneAlarm, if you recently uninstalled it, you will need to pop in your Windows CD, and run d:\tools\sysrec\pcrestor.bat in DOS, that will put all of the VXD's and DLL's back on your PC!
