this problem is a once in every 5 boots problem. I'll have it up and running and suddenly it will go black. I hit the keys and pad, but it's really out (not asleep) so when I turn it off and back on , then I hear a couple of clicks (nomal like it's attempting to boot), but it won't boot. The screen stays black. The disk and power icon are lit up. When I try to boot over and over- eventually it will boot.

sounds like its going into suspend or hibernate and is not able to recover. (this is an ongoing issue with some computers) It is usually a disagreement between your bios and your operating system about who is going to control what.
Check your power options to see if this is the case.

I had previously disabled the power sleep stuff. There was one option that i couldn't disable though (suspend to disk or something) but it did allow me to choose an hour max time.

you kow those little round batteries inside? I'm thinking I should try replacing it. What are they called? Are they all pretty much the same standard kind or do I need to take it out and see what it is. And if it were dying wouldn't that cause my laptop to have frequent power problems? Like it just goes black (out of the blue *hehe)
