laptop trackpoint not working

i have a IBM thinkpad A20m. Recently have problem with my laptop and it goes to safe mode which i have correct the problem. But the problem is that it still show the start menu to choose the mode. later discovered that my trackpoint is not working whenever i am in safe mode. Would like to know how should i go about to rectify this problem. Hope that all of u, experts would give me more advices on this as i know nothing regarding computer. Thank u very much
Correction: That is probably why your Track Point is 'not' working.
To run msconfig go to Start /Run and type msconfig

I had follow your instruction but i think the problem is not that. As it show that the start up are enables. So would anyone advise me the real problem with my trackpoint. And also when i go to safe mode, it also tell me the i don't have any mouse which i really don't have. so I am now force to use my keyboard and nothing else on safe mode. Pls advise urgently. thks
