I have a gateway 2000 2100 solo laptop,It is stuck in suspend mode (I think),I've read that you can restore it by
resetting the computer's internal settings to factory defaults in the CMOS to eliminate the possibility of improper settings.
But I don't know how .Does anyone know how?

Shayster,
I am not to sure on a Gateway, on my Acer laptop 1.cold boot your machine
2.at first screen press F2
3.This should take you to BIOS Utility (if it doesnt ignore the rest of this message and press esc)
4.scroll down to the load Default settings and hit enter
5.You should get a message something like "Do you want to load default settings?" appear.
6. Highlight [Yes} then press enter
7. Press esc. this should give you a message "Settings have been changed. Do you want to save CMOS?"
8. Highlight [Yes] and press enter
9. YOur screen will go blank....and you will curse me (only temporarily)
10. Your machine should now boot to the OS on its own with Default CMOS.
Hope it helps.
