Laptop Battery Problem

I have an NEC Versa P (Pentium 75) Laptop which is indicating a battery problem where it appears it uses up the battery quickly according to the gauge on the Laptop. Within 20 minutes a fully charged battery (four bars on the indicator) is indicated as nearly empty (1 Bar flashing), yet the laptop is operational for at least another hour 10 minutes). The beep starts after 20 minutes unless I turn it off. I have just had the battery tested and it is OK. Can I rectify this someway?

It might be getting a false build up of memory on the battery. One way to correct this is to completely discharge the battery then charge it fully before using again.

Not good to run a battery completly dead. can cause cells to short, Just cycle it a few times. charge and discharge. To charge activate the fast charge by pluging in the charger with the computer on after the battery warning beep. charge led should go on. Battery should get warm after 15 mins not hot in one spot. Then slow charge overnight (led off) Then run the computer without the charger till it shuts down automaticly. Recharge as soon as posible
