Hey,
My keyboard port stopped working one day and doesnt work anymore. I know its not the keyboard because i tried a few of them. I think its the port thats burnt. Is there anything i can do to fix it or connect it on another port or buy a card with a keyboard connection. Please help. Thank you in advanced!!!

The real test to ensure that the keyboard is not at fault is to try it on another computer. This eliminates the possibility that you are trying non-functinal keyboards. That said, it does sound like you have a faulty keyboard controller.

The keyboard controller is part of the motherboard. If this is dead, the correct repair would require a replacement motherboard.

The only alternative connection is USB. Unfortunately, under Windows 95, this isn't a real possibility.

I would recommend that you look for a similar specked (or better) computer on the second hand market. You should be surprised how cheaply they can be bought for.

Post back your motherboard or system model. Some motherboards had a separate KB controller. If the problem is not the socket it may be that controller.

System, if it's a name brand like HP, IBM, Dell, etc. If it's a generic setup, the motherboard model may show on the posting screen above the RAM count. Or there may a bios string in the lower left corner on the posting screen. Or you could open the case and examine the board itself.

No, I don't think so. There's an azura monitor and maybe they put together some systems but I couldn't find any info on that. If they did put systems together they probably used generic motherboards.

What shows on the screen when you start up the computer but before windows starts to load?
