Hey,
I just bought a used Win95 Laptop at a Garage Sale. Perfect for what I want it for, just writing basically.
But the little Mouse Circle thing on it doesn't work. And I don't want to attach a mouse to it.
So I was wondering if someone could give me a list, or link to a list of Keyboard Shortcut Keys.
Like you to open files and such. How do I close programs, since I can't click the little x in the corner. At the top of programs where it says stuff like File and Edit and View and such, how do I click that?
I see a underscore under the F, E, and V of them, but what else do I click?Any help would be appreciated.

I assume by the "Mouse Circle Thingy" you mean the PS2 port for the mouse.
If you don't have a mouse attached, you won't be clicking anything; you will just be pressing keys.
Very simple ones:
Alt-Tab to scroll through open Windows
Alt and any letter across the top of the window to open that particular option i.e. Alt - F = File
Alt-F4 will close the active Window
Alt-Space-N will minimize current WindowLots more than that of course..
Specfic software programs will of course have their own shortcuts as well.
Google for "Keyboard Shortcuts".
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Rest assured that there is nothing you can't do using the keyboard but there are several thing you can't do using a mouse. Shout back if you end up with anything you can't find how to do.
I'm assuming the "circle thing" is the inbuilt laptop mouse feature (not sure of its technical name).

We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true

Yeah, the little circle thing looks like
http://www.almaden.ibm.com/cs/user/tp/trackpt.gifIt works sometimes, then just randomly stops.
I have a PS2 Port, but don't really want to have anything like that attached.I am learning ok for keyboard commands.
Thanks for all the help, you all seem so nice and friendly. Well, I'll post again if I can't figure something out.

Same thing (only different): trackpoint

Unless you're experienced in taking laptops apart, trying to replace (or even clean) the mouse pointer would be risky at best (and likely fatal). If you're that determined not to have a mouse attached, then the only other alternative I can think of would be a clip-on trackball (assuming you can find one):
