My Keyboard and mouse have been freezing up latly. At first I thought everything had froze but after throwing a cd that automaticly runs in the drive it popped up. This isnt the first time the keyboards cut out but it was usually after running a video game, my mouse however has never cut out. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? My system is at AMD Athlon 800mhz, Win98, recently upgraded to 256mb of ram.
Also i'd like to note that recently my system has been exceptionally slow, booting takes way longer than it used to. It got slow a little while after I upgraded my ram from pc133-128mb to pc100-256mb (two pc100 128mb sticks). The reason for switching to pc100 is that my motherboard doesnt work with pc133 at certain clock speeds (my system wouldnt get passed the memory test with pc133) and rather than over-clock the system I switched ram. Does anyone have any theories why my computer is such a pile of sh*t? I hate my computer. Please help.
Thanks.

I really hate to say this but last year my mouse and keyboard up and quit on me too. Then the computer would only boot cold once out of about 5 times. And still no mouse or keyboard. Needless to say I ended up replacing the motherboard. I did want to upgrade my processor anyway so it was a good thing in my case. I went from 350mhz to 550mhz. Still not near where you are, but I am pushing my 550mhz with 384mb's of pc-100 ram. She'll do just about anything I need her to. This is only my experience and yours may be a completely different problem but just saying it is a possibility. The keyboard and mouse can go and the rest of everything can be perfectly fine.
Good luck.
