If your machine is erroring out on Kernal 32.dll your system registry is corrupt. Try
reloading windows again. If you still get the
errors you will have to reformat your HD.

Dear JAKE,
please try your system running after disabling external cache memory from CMOS setup. Let me know the status after doing thisd.

I was getting Kernel32.dll errors at Corel Word Perfect trying to use the perfect expert where you make custom charts, greeting cards and brochures. After trying a number of things (reinstalling corel a no. of times, using boot disk) finally had to reinstall windows98 and put it in a new driver. It solved the problem but we lost alot of things. Our dealer suggested this don't know if we should have. Very pissed off. We still have our other system named as Winold.

I just came across this site. I have what appears to be the same
problem you had. Did you ever solve it? When I open the PC, or restart
it, I get the following "error starting program" message: " pncrt.dll
linked to missing export kernel32.dll:getmodulhandleA" I have windows
98 and have done everything I know what to do. The problem doesn't seem
to be effecting any other applications, at least not at the moment.Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Barry

Glad to see i"m not alone. I get "Explorer caused page fault at Kernel32.dll" on startup. Startup continues - for now.
Have reloaded and scanned everything.
Anybody got a fix????

well, had the same probs after installing Netscape 4.6x. Now and then, the "0028:" error after incomplete repair of IE4, then the "014f" error on any given program. I swear I thought I could just "stare" at my monitor and it would pop up the inveitable Kernel error. After haunting what is that 4.6x did,...finally home clear. I think. So far no errors. Will post my rendevous with it on www.deja.com

I have 2 IBM Aptiva Computers and everytime I try to write a check to print on Quicken 98 on one computer and Quicken 99 on the other one,I get this error message:Program has preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down. More details shows: QW caused a stack fault in module kernal32.DLL @ 0177:bff7b997. This happens on both computers. I also have windows 98 on both units. Please E-Mail me at farris1@gxmi.com

End User here at work are getting Excel caused a stack fault in module Kernel32.dll
The PC was just reload. The reason it was reload the first time was because it had different error messages caused by bad memory. After i replaced the memory all is ok except when EU goes to two excel documents are try to create new spreadsheet it gets this error message. Help!

HAHAHA!!!!!
I thought I was all alone on this one!
I had Windows98 PROFESSIONALLY reloaded onto my computer as an upgrade from Windows 95 on a HD that had been completely reformatted 5 times. And I am still experiencing these problems! Am having someone look at my computer again hopefully soon. The only solution I have heard so far to fixing this problem is getting a new motherboard or harddrive, but I don't think the computers are the problem! I think it's Windows 98! Microsoft ... we need a damn KERNAL UPDATE!!! I would go back to Windows 95 but I don't have the disk .. BOOO
To anyone else thinking of upgrading their system .. my advice is DON"T do it unless you do a complete reformat of your HD and use a complete install of Windows98 ... NOT THE UPGRADE FOR WINDOWS 98/NT USERS!!!
Hope this helps ... if anyone wants to know the progress of my problem ... don't hesitate to email me!

When I try to download IE4 using the IE4setup.exe, everything goes fine until it starts to download IE4. I get the message,
IE4WZD
X This program has performed an Illegall operation and will shut down. When I click on Detail, it says, IEWZD caused an exception c0010000h in module kernel32.dll at 0137:bff9a3co.I think my registry may be corrupted!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

to cassie on 9/14 you said you wished you had the 95 back. I still have 95 and wish i didn't. I have k32.dll errors on everything from netscape to quickbooks to excel. I have reloaded, uninstalled and reinstalled almost all software on my pc and still have the same old invalid page fault at module k32.dll. I would love any suggestions from anyone who has and idea other than lynching b gates.

As of a few days ago I've been having crashes of netscape andIexplorer with the KERNAL32.DLL at 015f:bff7b997 module error. It has also come up with 015f....7b197
Before the crashes Jpeg images start to screw up with sections of the image displaced. Coincidently there has been a module error in jpeg3240.dll at 015f:6024413bThere are also Fatal exception errors associated with these crashes:
0028:c0043911 in vxd ntkern(01) +00003421This started overnight without the addition of any new software or hardware and no major system changes. 200Mhz 686

Kernel32.dll problems are due, at least in part, to errors in the registry. Download, install, and run RegClean from microsoft.com. This fixed the prob in IE5, now I get it with Netscape.

Kernel32 errors caused by taskmon.exe on shutdown can be fixed by renaming/deleting the hidden directory c:\windows\applog and restarting your computer. Worked for me on 2 occasions with Windows98 and a big bloated 11MB registry. Time for a format and re-install perhaps??

I have the same problem...KERNEL32 ERRORS.
I tried just about everything. I have search the net for information.. haven't found anything that helps. I can't not open My computer, Trash, Windows Exployer with out getting KERNEL32.Dll Page fault error. I did get error when I tried to open AOL and that error lock up my PC totaly. I have deleted AOL and check just about everything still getting error. Now I a fixing to reformat and reinstall win98. I doubt it will work nothing else has. Does any one have any suggestions... HELP THIS KERNEL32 IS REALLY GETTING ME MAD..

vscan9x caused an invalid page fault in kernel 32.dll at 0167:bff97a44
I have windows 98 second edition and aol 5.0Can anyone help?
Thanks
Herman

For what it is worth. I was trying to put a tv card into a win98 pc that was working fine. After I successfully had it working I rebooted it. I was getting error messages on opening almost anything. Had problems with modem also. Even though everything showed ok, the card was somehow conflicting with modem and soundcard. I managed to clear up the modem problem. As far as I could tell if I turned sounds off in control panel, then it worked ok with sound card also. This may not help anyone, but I thought it was worth posting.

I get game crashes...half of my games crash to the desktop without any errors or messages. I went into some of the log files and found out that it is kernal32 causing ALL of my problems. for those of you who think that re-installing windows will help...it wont. Niether will formatting. ive dont it literally about 10 times in the last month out of peer frustration. any other options would be muchly appreciated. PLEASE e-mail me with a solution if you have any.
P.S. dont bother posting info here on the forum for me... Ive posted on about 15 forums today and im not going to be coming back to check if i have messages. if you need to give me information or ask questions... please e-mail me- joboxr69@hotmail.com

WELL I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE, HA HA HA. I GUESS THE JOKE IS ON ALL OF US. IF AND WHEN ANYONE, ANYWHERE COMES UP WITH THE FIX FOR THIS AND ALL THE OTHERS I'M HAVING ALONG WITH EVERYBODY ELSE. I HOPE THAT I WILL HERE ABOUT HOW TO FIX IT. FOR NOW I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, I'M NOT GOING THROUGH ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS THAT COME ALONG WITH TRYING TO FIX THIS PROGRAM. PLEASE ANYONE THAT COMES UP WITH THE FIX, LET ME KNOW SOMEHOW

have any of you tried a registry cleaner?? This fixed my problem right up -- i use McAfee but any registry cleaner will work they're some on the net that work fine :)
Hope this is helpful :)

Bless the search engine that sent me to this site. I too have had the same "feelings" towards Bill G and my computer. I feel better knowing I am not along with the kernal32.dll problem.

I too am having the Kernal32.dll error....only this time I'm getting it as soon as Windows starts and my desktop appears. That prevents me from going any farther. I've tried starting in Safe Mode and I'v run SFC and also done a registry check but no errors were found. What do I do now?

I hope this helps you guys out. this is from the microsoft knowledge base.
To resolve this situation, extract a new copy of the Kernel32.dll file from your original Windows disks or CD-ROM. To do so, follow these steps:
Restart your computer. When you see the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F8 key, and then choose Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu. If you are using Windows 98, restart your computer, press and hold down the CTRL key while your computer restarts until you see the Windows 98 Startup menu, and then choose Command Prompt Only.
Type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each line:cd\windows\system
ren kernel32.dll kernel32.xxx
Extract a new copy of the Kernel32.dll file from your original Windows disks or CD-ROM to the Windows\System folder. For information about using the Extract tool, type extract at the command prompt, or see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

I am getting the illegal error message and booted off the internet when I try to access certain web sites. It states "DDHelp caused an invalid page fault in module M2DD32.DLL at 018f:b00c8d04" I have just reformatted and reinstalled windows and this error message began to appear. I see others have the same 32.DLL problem but not with the DDhelp. If anyone knows of a fix, please e-mail me at the above address. Thank you very much.

Same thing for me when I close down IE 5.5 in Win98. I can't get the error prompt to go away. I want to know how to fix this. I am not going to pay to call them when this is a major problem. This really makes me mad. Where is Ralph Nader?

i love him!!
he always works great for me!
i seriously cannot believe that there is so many machines that have all these continuous
KERNEL32 problems....
If you treat him with respect he'll play with you!
HAHAHAHAHA............
narr........i have had one problem with the kernel ..
i reccommend you use the program called MICROSOFT REGCLEAN..!
it does actually fix small registry problems
BUT PLEASE.......!!!!
DONT HATE THE KERNEL!!!

LEAVE THE KERNEL ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you want to fight about the kernel.....
email me!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THE KERNEL

YEA the kernel32 box comes up when the b---tard targets a file of mine, so far ive seen it pop up from yahoo messneger, Compression agent, and as well as all the other files in the past...i wonder if there is like a repair or fix, i dont have the widows disk to reinstall windows, cuz when i bought this computer it came with that problem and no windows disk and i am currently running on windows 98 second version. Sometimes kernel32 will even pop up the blue screen of death and then i hit the reset button pissed and disappointed at Bill Gates and all the problems i have with windows as well as his internet explorer and any other problems from the microsoft corporation but what the hell am i supposed to do ?

cool, i´m having kernel-problems too...
who of you mentioned the problems starting with JPEG-pix screwing up? My problems also began when my PC screwed up JPEG-pix and MPEG-movies, then after a while i couldn´t execute installation-programs, which asked for a missing KERNEL32.DLL and so on, i think you know the rest.
Has anyone found out a solution for this, or are we all going to explain our problems. Anyone tried out the Microsoft RegClean, and how does it work???

Hi, I have joined the club. The Kernal has left the building. I bought photosuite III by MGI and no matter how many times I installed it, I would get kicked by Kernal 32. Can't find a fix. Any ideas out there?
Am running W98 on a 266mgh e.machine.

every time i go to a site that has a Flash 5 applet on it, it always saya that it performed an illegal opperation. it says sumtin about kernel32.dll and i want to download it and overwrite the old one to hope it will work Thanx!
P.S.If you can, send it to me at Mushmouth101@aol.com.

Some KERNEL32 errors in EXPLORER can be fixed by renaming/deleting the hidden directory C:\windows\applog and then restarting.
(TASKMON is monitoring which programs you use, and is saving this information into files in the APPLOG folder, so that DEFRAG can put the "most-often-used" files at the "start" of the disk partition.)

My problem with msimn kernel32.dll at 0167:bff74347 is really annoying. I cannot get rid of it. It appears in Outlook Express and my ISP and my computer supplier have been trying to help for weeks, but we haven't been successful. I absolutely refuse to pay for the toll call to Microsoft, which might take a couple of hours and then not fix it anyway. How about some toll free numbers Mr. Gates so that your experts can help us?

What have I to do in the following case? I have windows98 and word97. Thanks for help
