Comment:

I just installed a scanner. When I try to scan I get an error message that it will shut down and the reason is the kernel32.dll The program (any one I use, Adobe Photo Shop, win98 Imaging, etc) will let me do a prescan and it will go through the motions of scanning but when the scan is complete it shuts down! Is there something wrong with my scanner? What can I do??? I'm getting ready to return my scanner. I even tried to reinstall windows 98 but it didn't help either... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

If the pre-scan works OK, chances are that the hardware is OK.

Try re-installing the scanner software (driver, TWAIN etc.) or looking for a later version on the manufacturer's website.
