That's one of the most standard errors, try reinstalling your OS. That usually does the job.
Other people will suggest changing Ram and so on but some people can't afford that if it doesn't solve the problem.

good luck

This is a common memory problem. The best cure I have found after kernel32dll kept crashing my system was to install FREEMEM, a program that keeps those dll files clean. FREEMEM has kept my system stable for many months now.
Do a search to find it, download it, & install. Good Luck

I'm getting this message every time I try to open Control Panel. It only started last night, so I doubt if its a memory problem. I'm not sure I want to have to re-install Windows 98. Is there a fix, or do I have to re-install everything?

If you are opperating a Win95 system you might look at the kernel32.dll itself. Microsoft corp has some updates for kernel.dll's. Check the version of your kernel see it it is:
file version (4.00.951)
special build descriptiontion (QFE)
modified (Friday, February 02, 1996 9:51:00 AM)
or later.

I am receiving this page fault error message and it is becoming more frequent. It started after I had to reinstall windows 98 due to a crash. Did anyone get this fixed?

Please reply by email.

#1: YES, it is your memory. Make sure your memory is good by using a module from a friends machine that is stable.

#2 you can re-extract system files (.dll) by doing the following:
startmenu/run....
type msinfo32 (for win98 don't know for win95)
in the tools menu, select 'system file checker'
then, select the option to specify the file to be extracted, put the win9x cd in and follow the instructions after selecting 'start'
