Ever since I formatted my HD my cursor jumps up a line or two when typing in any word processor (Word 2000) or in a message box online. Any other time everything works fine. Have to be careful or else I end up replacing text that I have already typed... no specific pattern when it occurs either. Any suggestions?

One of two things could be wrong.

1) Maybe your mouse needs his ball cleaned? Have you done that lately?

2) Does your mouse need a driver to operate properly? I had that trouble with a serial mouse I got here. Takes a special dos driver to get it to work right.

So try these and see what happens.

Thanks Terri, tried updating mouse drivers and mouse is clean, no luck. This all happens only when using the keyboard (mouse or touch pad not used), maybe something is amuck with it's driver?

If your touchpad has it's own mouse, keep it,and the pen away from the pad when not in use, maybe?

Mikey, Touch Pad has no pen and all worked fine before the format and reinstall. Have formatted this machine a few times and never ran into this trouble. No software or updates were add that was not allready on it before. Cannot seem to force this occurance, only happens when I take my eyes off the screen?? (must be my magnetic personality eh?) Thanks anyway for yours and Terri's help... appreciated.
