Hi there. I have two old 5.25" floppy drives that I would like to drop into a couple of old machines I have kicking around. I can't find the jumper settings from the manufacturers so I thought I'd come to the next best place.
Unit 1 is a Mitsubishi model No. U288Y073 JVC SS01JF No. 166323 FF 5.25" floppy.
Unit 2 is a Panasonic ( Matsus---a ) model no. JU-475-3A36 also marked with the numbers FMD01730B4 and K430125.
Can anyone suggest to me where I can locate jumper settings for these old drives?

Most of the time you don't have to set jumpers on a 5.25 floppy drive. All you have to do is setup the BIOS of the computer to use the 5.25 as the A: drive or the B: drive depending on which connector on the Floppy drive ribon cable the 5.25 floppy drive is connected to. Start out by setting the BIOS to 1.2 MB 5.25, if you get any type of error on the next boot up then you'll use the 360 Kb 5.25 setting. From my experience using installing and using 5.25 floppy drives and disks (which is surprisingly recent) I've never had to change a jumper setting.
