JPG opens slow and other slow programs

I have anIBM Apriva with 96 Megm running Win 98. My jpg files take a long time to open using explorer. Also, I purchased purchases TRIPMAKER, and it takes forever for it to come up. Ahen trying to use it, it opens a frame and hangs up. Other things seem ok.
Both of these worked very well in the past, but my nephew used my system and ???

Well, I found my own problem. Had some type of WEB enhancer running. Not sure where it came from, but when I deleted it the problem went away. Found it by ALT, CTL, DEL, to see what was running after booting up. Ended (end task) one at a time until I found the problem.
