When I try to open any jpeg file I get an error which says C:\My Documents\file name.jpg is not a valid win32 application. Some how windows thinks that the file is executible. It have check the file association in Folder Options. I even removed the old entry and created a new one, but no change. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

Do you have a .jpg viewer such as Irfanview ? Try reassociating .jpg with the application.

Sounds a bit like the romeo virus (off the top of my head). That virus steals associations.

Click on one of the jpg files once to highlight it then, with the shift key down, right click on it and choose 'open with'. Then choose whatever software you were using before to open it.

If it doesn't 'remember' that setting then maybe a virus as spamtrap suggests is responsible.
