'ISSET_SE' error message...

The error message 'ISSET_SE has caused a general protection fault in module SETUP.EXE' always appears everytime i try to install a game from my 24x cd_rom drive. What exactly is the problem? This error happened to my old 4x cd drive, and although i've upgraded to Windows 98, and a 24x cd drive, the problem is still there. Is there a way to fix it?

If you have norton antivirus, close all tsrīs that has something to do with Norton, also close point32 and mswheel. Close those ones before installing.

THANK YOU! I have been eduring that problem for far too long. I mainly attempted to skirt the malady by copying the setup files onto my computer, but that sometimes didn't work. Whew! Thanks A LOT!

I had the same problem. I tried to install a game and kept getting that problem. I have Nortons AntiVirus installed on my computer and i disabled it. When I disabled it, the message didn't appear. So you should try to disable it and then try to install the software. I think it will work.

Symantec troubleshooting site http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/1998082117105406&src=tr suggests disabling the scan all option and set to program files only. They have identified installShield as the program being interfered with.
