Is there a freeware anti-virus bootdisk image out there that can be downloaded,
that features recent virus definition
updates?

Anti-virus bootdisks not mention many other types of bootdisks with a self-install image can be acquired from www.bootdisk.com
They should have a few anti-virus boot disks

If you download the best free virus protection AVG when your setting it up the option to make a boot disk is part of the setup. you can get it @ http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_downl.htm

I used Nero to make a bootable CD, and also put a DOS-level F-PROT scanner with pretty up to date defs (6/3/2002) on there.
I tested it out on one machine and it worked really well.

awoodin, You can go to the EMERGENCY RESCUE DISK link below my name(Homepage:), read or print out the instructions and download the "rescue disk builder 305.exe" file. You must do this on a clean virus free system and you'll need 6 floppies. This is updated usually weekly and yes the first floppy will be a boot disc. Note that this is for Windows 95/98 but I believe it will work on Windows ME also. Check it out.
