It started a week ago. I would turn on my computer and the fans would come on but my DVD-Burner's light would stay on. It wouldn't boot up. I would shut it off, wait 30 seconds and try again. It would then flash and check the other drives and boot up normally. Well today, I got the same symptom. I turned it off and back on after 30 secs.. and nada. I see the lights on the CD's (I have 2.. DVD Burner and DVD-Rom) go on and off.. but after that I just listen to the fans. I can open the CD drives, but nothing else. Reset doesn't restart. I also don't get the POST beeps.

I have replaced battery, reset the CMOS, took out every card and cleaned the contacts. I even switched the power cord from the CD's to the Hard Drives..so I know I have power going to it. NADA! :-( Please help me?

I would, but I can't boot to C:. It won't turn on the video. It doesn't go that far. Usually, after the check on the cd's.. the monitor comes on. But it won't do that now.
Any other suggestions?

hey i defeinitly think its a hardware or bios problem. since you cant even go past POST, i dont think its a problem with windows. i would recommend going to a proper repair shop to get it fix, or otherwise you might end up losing everything and still not know whats wrong. they have equipments and stuff to check all the hardware (physically). for example a very simple test would be to take out the harddrive to see if it works on another machine. but let them do it. you might also want to ask them to back up your stuff.

If you cannot enter the MOBO BIOS, your problem is much more severe> Damaged MoBO/CPU since you said you cannot see any Video Display and no BEEPs (I presume your Internal Speaker connection to MoBO is intact)despite sequential removal of all cards including RAM and Video:-(

[ You have already done Resetting the CMOS Jumper to rule out CMOS corruption.]

Try the CPU on a Different MOB and the MOB with a different CPU to determine which of them can be salvaged. Also test other hardware (RAM, VIDEOCARD, HDD, CD-Devices) on healthy PC to test their health.
