IRQ Settings

Can IRQ share?
on IRQ 5 ,10,11 and 15 have several items on them.
5 acpi Irq stering
5 Lucent win modem

10 acpi Irq stering
10 VIA AC97 audio controller

11 ACPI IRQ stering
11 Trident cyber blade
11 VIA tech 3038 pci universal

14 via bus master Pci IDE controller
14 Primary IDE controller

15 VIA Bus master PCI IDE
15 Secondary IDE controller


is this normal?

I have been having a freeze up prob..would these setting cause that?

irq conflicts are the cause of some freezes but not many. If you have any exclamation marks in device manager disable those devices and reboot and see if you become stable.

I recommend a more detailed description of the symptoms. Almost always there was a precipitating event, and if you can remember it, great. If not, a good symptom description goes a long way.

You only have one IRQ (#11) being shared. ACPI IRQ Sharing is not really a device. It is used when an IRQ is being shared by multiple devices.
And yes PCI devices can share IRQs.
