If your cable company assigns IP addresses through DHCP you can change it easily, Go to Start -> Run -> type in 'winipcfg' (no quotes) and click on Ok. In the window that appears click on the 'Release All' Button. Then click 'Renew All' This should change your IP address. If this doesn't work then the IP addresses are static and assigned by your cable company.

Ok, I did the renewall thing. and its a no go. At the bottom it say's lease. I called my cable company and they said to do the same thing you said. but under the lease part it says it is leased till tomorrow at 3:01pm. If I was to release it then would it change my ip? If not is there any other way I can change my ip?
