Means another PC with that exact same IP address already exists, you can trace which PC by the mac address that it gives, though i don't understand how this can happen if you are using DHCP.

Before when this has happened to me, I right click on Network Neighborhood, left on Settings, select TCPIP for NIC card, re-type over all data on all network page tabs, on radio buttons, select alternate, then return alternate back to original choice then close the folder, re-boot and most times the problem goes away. Be sure you power off, don't do a soft reset as the soft reset will not always reset the NIC.

You can also try this at Command Prompt at the machine you are having problems w/.
"ipconfig release_all" this will release all the adpters of their IP Address/ then you type "ipconfig renew_all" this of course will renew your IP address/, then you restart your system. And your conflict should be gone.

Just to followup on Joes P above, you could also use the 'winipcfg' program to do the same

Sounds Like You May have pick and ip range that limits the ip range...
Try getting a ip calculator from www.download.com and get a better ip range...

Thanks for your comments. I'm using DHCP. I tried the above mentioned suggestions and still have the same problem. When I tried ipconfig release_all, I got a bad command or file name. Trying winipcfg worked to release all but when I clicked on renew all, I got the error "DHCP server unavailable. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
