P200 generic system displays invalid system disk message on boot-up and will not boot from floppy, hard drive or cd-rom, despite altering the bios boot sequence.Any suggestions?

Was the system working OK up to this time? If so, not being able to boot from both the floppy and hard drive is VERY strange. I would try resetting the Bios either by a jumper on the motherboard or by removing the battery for a short time.

Yes, it would appear to have been working normally (although I only have this info 2nd hand!). Will try your suggestion re battery, thanks.

It's unlikely that both the hard drive and floppy would fail at the same time. However, since the floppy is normally rarely used it might have failed earlier and not been noticed. It might be worthwhile to try another floppy drive. Operator error is another likely answer.
