CPU/Ram: IBM Thinkpad 310ED
Comment:

I have an old Thinkpad 310ED that needed a
hard drive. I just got one, and i just got
a copy of windows 95 which is what the 310
is designed for. However, when I turn it on
all it says is "Invalid Partition Table.
Setup Cannot Continue." Could anyone please
tell me how to fix this?

You have to format it first. Did you get a disk with the new HDD? That should walk you through it.

I didn't get a disk with the hard drive.
Does this mean I have to get a format disk
for it?

What version of Win95? Large disk support (2Gb+) was only available in Win95B onward.

Start with the boot floppy and run fdisk, option (4) to report the drive status - if all shows ok, run scandisk.

If it is a new drive, it must be partitioned and then formatted.
You can get win95 bootable floppies with fdisk (partitioner) and format on it at

format c:

What?
