Ever since I installed my new earthlink software (a little more than a week ago), I'm getting an "invalid page fault in kernel32.dll" and a "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" dialog box every other time I connect to the net. It's still letting me connect, but it's causing all but the sound icon in my taskbar to disappear. I have to restart, of course, to get them back. Anybody know what is causing this problem and what might fix it? Thanks!

Frank,
I also use earth-Slink. Generally the problem you are encountering caused by an installation problem with there software. It is difficult to get a good set up with any programs running on your system. They tend to use dll's that aren't right for sll systems. First thing to try is to stabilize your system by running the system file checker. From start go to accessories and system tools. Move down to System Information and click this and when it opens click the Tools tab. This will open a menu of tools that you will find most helpful in maintaing your system. Click on the System File Checker and let it check for altered and missing files. I expect that you will find some dll's that Earthlink's Total Access has changed to older versions, so reload the later version using that option. If that doesn't detect any problem your only choice may be to remove the Earthlink program and re-install it.

Regarding "invalid page fault in kernel32.dll"
It is possible that your password list file is damaged. Try re-creating your password list file:
In Windows Explorer select your \Windows folder
Press F3. This will bring up the Find: All Files window
In the Named: box type *.pwl
Click Find Now
When a list of found files is displayed, delete them all
Close the Find window and restart WindowsRegarding "Illegal operation"
This kind of problem is usually caused by improper installation of the software please try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.Regards,
Sherlock
